2011 NGWA Ground Water Expo In Las Vegas Is A Winner

It was not a surprise that a common quote heard in Las Vegas was, “What happens in Vegas…!”  Yes, we’ve all heard that quote, but after a few days of exhibiting multiple products for the ground water industry as well as speaking at workshops, a much more appropriate sentiment would have been, “Vegas and NGWA, now that is a winning combination!”  That was the conclusion of the Goulds Water Technology team that exhibited at the 2011 National Ground Water Association Ground Water Expo, November 29-December 2, in Las Vegas.

For those not real familiar with the Show, the NGWA Ground Water Expo brings together U.S. and international groundwater professionals, which include contractors, equipment manufacturers, suppliers, scientists, and engineers that are dedicated to advancing groundwater knowledge, management, and use of water.

Lineshaft and submersible turbine pumps were a big draw with the attendees at the 2011 NGWA Ground Water Expo.

As the first North American trade show for Xylem, we were anxious to welcome attendees to our both.  The Goulds Water Technology (GWT) team was the primary brand and displayed many of the products in the GWT portfolio such as submersible and lineshaft turbine, 4″ submersible, jet, sump, effluent, sewage and centrifugal, as well as double suction, multi-stage, slurry and process pumps.  With nearly 5,000 ground water professional attending the show, it was pretty safe to say that most stopped by the booth to talk about the innovative solutions offered by the products, the new name and all left with a free Xylem hat and coffee mug.

While the trade show was only open on Wednesday and Thursday, there were numerous educational opportunities such as workshops and panel discussions for attendees during the four day expo.  Not to be missed was also the GWT Hospitality Party which was attended by nearly 400 on Wednesday night.  The festive celebration gave friends and colleagues a chance to unwind, reconnect, eat some scrumptious food, listen to great music, and to really kick it up a notch, the GWT Flash Mob got the dance floor moving.

Call it Sin City, the City of Lights or just hum a little of Elvis’ Viva Las Vegas, we’ll just call it a winner of a time!
